Sugar Land Dance Center got its start in 1982 in a one room studio on Eldridge. Through the years, the school has expanded and moved to accommodate the thousands of families and dancers that have benefitted from learning the art of dance. At the 25th Anniversary Party, former students joined current students for a tribute performance to the school's founder, Kathleen Parker Lobue. Former students include lawyers, doctors, nurses, an architect, interior designer, pharmacists, engineers, teachers, as well as many dance professionals. There are now many second generation dancers following in their footsteps. Plans are already underway for the 50th Anniversary in 2032!
